Music. Colors. Fun. Perfume. And, a lot, a lot of wine. Here are the ingredients of one of the most awaited parties in Portugal: the Festa das Vindimas. Location, the village of Palmela, in the Setubal district, not far from the marvelous Lisbon.

Every first week of September, the Portuguese village turns into a blaze of sounds, scents and colors. The protagonist, since its birth, wine, with the aim of divulging one of the main riches of the Region. With Muscat, true pride of an entire country.

Six days to live intensely, with a program and a calendar full of events. Shows and entertainment, wine tastings, exhibitions, sporting events, a large allegorical procession, bullfights and the famous fireworks show in the village of Palmela. Here is the recipe for a success that lasts for about 60 years. A winning project that, not surprisingly, welcomes over 300.000 visitors.

Of course, given the proximity, an escape in the capital in this period should certainly not be disdained.

HOW TO GET

The village of Palmela is located in the Setubal district, just over 40 km from Lisbon. The Lusitanian capital, and its international airport, are the base for reaching the Portuguese town.

The most convenient way to reach Palmela is, without a doubt, the car. You can rent your vehicle directly from the airport and from there, proceed via the A12 or A2 to Setúbal. Through this link, you can compare the different rental companies and book your car at the best price.
Anyone wishing to use the means can arrive by train, with Linha do Sado and Roma / Areeiro / Setubal. From Lisbon, by train, it takes little more than 90′, starting from the East and changing to Sete Rios.

Once you reach Palmela, you can easily walk around the city, in the city center and at the main places of the Festa das Vindimas.

Also for the 60th anniversary of the Festa Das Vindimas, you will be super busy with shows, shows, competitions, exhibitions, tastings …
Here, some of the events not to be missed.

On 30th August, a great “appetizer” with the gala for the election of the Rainha 2023. Appointment at the Cine Teatro Sao Joao, at 21:30. Entrance fee.
Next day, starting at 8:00 pm, in Largo São João Batista there will be the inauguration of the Festa das Vindimas 2023. At 9:00 pm, show and entertainment at the Palco Adegas Wine Lounge.

Closing on 05 September with the Monda show, from 9:30 pm in Largo São João.
