Welcome to the biggest Regatta in the world!
It reaches its edition number 55, the Barcolana, a historic sailing regatta that takes place in Italy in the Gulf of Trieste.
An extraordinary event that involves over 20000 sailors, and more than 200 thousand spectators.

Arranged in a truly incredible scenery, you can admire the Barcolana from the shores of Trieste, or from the heights, in what can be considered a natural stadium.

To make the event special, the incredible number of participants who, today, touches 2100 share of boats. No regatta in the world, boasts similar numbers. Side by side, professionals, enthusiasts or simple curious compete; they are divided according to the length of the boat, and arranged on a single starting line.
All in search of the famous Barcolana Cup, the trophy awarded to the winner of the general classification.

There will be other trophies and cups for the winners of individual categories, best skippers, ship owners, fair play…
And there will also be space for activities and collateral events, with a busy schedule of music and concerts, nightly shows, windsurfing and kitesurfing shows.
At the Barcolana Village, on the banks of Trieste, food and wine stands await you, as well as exhibitions of technical materials.
Everything, in the arc of 10 fantastic days.

PRACTICAL INFO

HOW TO GET

Trieste can be reached by air, calling at Venice Marco Polo. The airport is well connected, with direct flights, with the main European and extra-European destinations.
Just landed, you can reach Trieste comfortably by car, through the A4. Directly at the airport, you will find numerous agencies to rent a car.

Alternatively, those wishing to use the means must reach the central station of Venezia Mestre and, from here, take the train to Trieste.
The central station is located in the center, less than 10 minutes walk from the Red Bridge and Piazza Unità d’Italia.

BARCOLANA 2023 PROGRAM

There are really numerous events that will thrill sailors and visitors. The highlight, of course, will be Sunday 08 October with B55, the Historical Regatta in the Gulf of Trieste, from 10:30. The starting point is fixed between Barcola and Miramare.
Here are some events not to be missed during the festival.

Saturday 07, at the Molo Audace – Bacino San Giusto, there will be the historic Regatta “by night”, starting at around 7 pm. An evening show, along the docks, absolutely unmissable. Barcolana Village 55, is the ground-based event par excellence, with an area of over 25,000 m² along the banks of Trieste, and about 200 exhibitors. The exhibition spaces will be open to the public for the entire duration of the event, starting from Saturday 30 September 2023.
