WHERE: Berlin, Germany
WHEN: from 07 to 16 October 2022
This year too Berlin is ready to amaze with extraordinary special effects, transforming itself into a real enchanted city. The most beautiful places, museums, monuments, squares and attractions will be visible in a different light, thanks to the Berlin Festival of Lights. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year, now in its 18th edition. An exhibition that, never like this year, promises to be of great impact, under the motto “Visions of our Future“.
A festival that winks at the environment and sustainability, rather hot topics in recent years. Create today for the future, in the name of sustainability, renewable energy, lower CO2 emissions
The best international artists will be present, with extraordinary 3D effects and magnificent installations. An event that combines tradition and innovation, with a careful and vigilant look also at the social aspect. About two million (!) Visitors will be expected at this event. An event that, in terms of effects and installations, is one of the most interesting in the world panorama, with Lyon, Moscow and Sydney.
During the ten days of the Berlin Festival of Lights, the city is transformed into a huge open-air stage. You can admire the greatest artists of the illuminations; listen to them as they tell stories, draw attention to detail, and present their cultures, arts, crafts and messages. The historical places of Berlin, the streets, squares, and all the most fashionable and interesting districts, will be set up with extraordinary light installations. In addition, the strong civic commitment and social responsibility on the part of the organizers, with important charity projects, should be noted.
The capital can be easily reached from the main German and European destinations. The new Brandenburg airport, which serves the city, is among the busiest in the country. Berlin HBF, on the other hand, is the reference point for German rail transport.
You can easily get around by metro, bus and on foot, and attend the main installations of the Festival. Public transport is really fast, efficient and connects every area of the center.
Every day, starting at 20:21 o’clock, until midnight, it will be possible to attend the light shows. There are really a lot of installations between the center and the periphery. Some of them, however, are only available for certain dates of the event.
The digital edition has also been confirmed this year with which it will be possible to see shows, virtual videos directly from the APP and on the official website.
As usual, meet at Alexanderplatz on 07 October at 20:21 o’clock for the official inauguration of the 2022 event. Marienkirche, the impressive Cathedral, the Brandenburg Gate, are some of the places not to be missed.
Admission is free, unless otherwise indicated. In some cases, where required, you have to pay the entrance ticket for a specific structure, or anointed one
There are incredible tours by bus and, above all, by boat. It is really fantastic and evocative, to see the main attractions of Berlin, letting yourself be carried along the waters of the river. Or even aboard an incredible… lightballoon. A way to see the Berlin Festival of Lights from another perspective.
Walking tours with a local guide to discover the most fascinating installations cost around €10-15 per person. If you have saved up some money, then use it to get around the city in amazing illuminated bike taxis. The price is about 90€ per person! The LightBalloon, on the other hand, will offer you a wonderful view of Berlin at a height of 150m. Prices from € 25 per adult and € 12.00 per child.
