Tired of the usual holidays, all sun, sea and beaches? Want to escape the oppressive heat of the city? The Europe of the North is ideal in July, thanks to a rather pleasant climate.
The protagonist of the month is Finland which, during the first week of July, hosts the Weekend Festival. This year’s edition will feature the town of Hämeenlinna, about an hour away from the capital.
Born in 2012, today it is the reference point in the European EDM (Electronic Dance Music) panorama. An event that attracts thousands of fans, thanks to a line-up of extraordinary impact that unites guests of international renown with emerging Finnish artists. Great names on the bill, even for the 2019 edition.
The result is a fresh, young and fun festival that ranges over numerous genres of electronic music. A particularly beloved and successful event which, over the years, has received several awards. Of these, a nomination for Best Medium-sized Festival at the 2013 European Festival Awards along with some “sacred monsters”. In the same year, YleX listeners voted for him as the best summer festival in Europe.
Access is allowed only to children over the age of 15. Minors can only enter if accompanied by an adult. Alcohol will NOT be served to children under the age of 18.
At the entrance you will need to show a valid identification document.
It is not allowed to enter with objects considered dangerous. It is forbidden to bring drugs into the area. The wifi line is available in many areas of the Weekend Festival. Keep in mind that, as it is used by many visitors, the speed could be extremely slow.
Helsinki-Vantaa international airport is connected with major European and non-European destinations. It is the main airport in Finland, located about 20 km from the capital.
The Hämeenlinna railway station is about an hour away by direct train from Helsinki. As soon as you arrive at the station, you can use the convenient shuttle bus to reach the Weekend Festival area. It is just 2 km from the Hämeenlinna train station. The train ticket from the capital costs €6.20 per person.
Alternatively it is possible to arrive by Intercity from Tampere. In this case, the journey takes about 40 minutes and tickets cost €4.20 per person.
The 2022 edition will take place over three days, from 01 to 03 July 2022. The lineup is truly top notch. Here, in detail, the artists who will perform during the festival:
Tickets are on sale, on the official website, in different steps. A limited number of coupons at increasing prices are available for each period. By purchasing in advance, you can get interesting reductions. Keep in mind that, close to the event, it is very likely that the tickets are all finished.

The Priority ticket offers access to an exclusive area with better views and a bar. The VIP ticket offers access to exclusive areas, separate entrance, accommodating beams. VIP PLATINUM offers the VIP also a LOUNGE room and a reserved table
The various tickets for the AFTERPARTY cost from €15.00 to €45.00 depending on the type.
For a truly complete experience, the Village is the best solution for all participants. You can sleep inside the campsite and take advantage of special rates. Access with your own tent costs € 17.50 per person. your favorite, you can sleep in a pre-installed tent (for two people) at a cost of 103 €. Also available with combined parking for € 119. The cost of the ticket for the festival must be added to the prices.
