WHERE: Bonn, Germany
WHEN: May 3, July 5, August 9 and 13, September 21, 2025
Art. History. Culture. The Rhine Valley is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and evocative places in all of Germany.
An exciting route that winds from Koblenz to Mainz where you can admire small villages, medieval castles and vineyards that cover the heights of the valley.
Since 2002, this stretch has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Right in this wonderful land, starting from the first week of May, you can admire a truly unique show, known as the Rhine in Flames (Rhein in Flammen).
Every year, for 5 dates from May to September, the sky from Bonn to St. Goar lights up with lights and colors with beautiful fireworks displays.
An event born between history, myth and legends, in 1956, which in a short time has achieved great success, both in terms of attendance and in terms of the quality of the proposal.
Today it is a candidate to be one of the events not to be missed in all of Germany.

The event takes place over 5 different stages. It starts, as per tradition, from Bonn. From here, about 60 boats gently cross the two banks of the Rhine, up to Linz Am Rhein.
The final stage will be the suggestive Lorelei Rock, one of the legendary places of the Rhine Valley, near St. Goarshausen, which rises sheer to 132m.
Here are the five stages of 2025:
May 3: Bonn – Linz Am Rhein
July 5: Bingen – Rüdesheim
August 9: Spay – Koblenz
August 13: Oberwesel
September 20: St. Goan – St. Goarshausen
During the Rhine in Flames weekends, the cities involved will host events, music and street food.
The complete program for each city can be found on the official website.
The fireworks displays can be seen not only in the locations of the event but also in all the surrounding areas, including villages and castles on the hills.
However, it is from the river that you can best enjoy the light shows. Numerous shipping companies offer the possibility of setting sail on fascinating boats. The ticket generally also includes an on-board menu with meals and drinks.
For the Bonn show, prices start from €119 per person including the menu.
Even in this case, it will be necessary to refer to the official website of the event and to the individual companies present in the locations.
