Il Mud Boryeong Festival, is this … and much more. It’s fun carefree together with thousands of people and friends from all over the world. No difference in nationality, sex, age, culture: in the mud, we are all the same!

It is a festival with many initiatives and activities. Ten days when it will be impossible to get bored. You can relax and enjoy the romantic scenery of Daecheon, on the wonderful, and long, white sand beach and shells, with a special person, or with friends.
You can do one of the many City Tours, day or night, to discover the attractions of Boryeong.
It is an opportunity for a swim among the crystal blue waters, after a long day of rolling and splashing in the mud.
And for your evenings, performances and concerts that will keep you company.

The Mud Boryeong Festival is an extraordinary event that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. It is one of the most important summer festivals in the world, awarded, every year, with incredible awards. In the 2016 he received the “Grand Prize and Festival Directing Award in Republic of Korea Festival Contents“. In previous years, numerous victories within the International Festivals and Event Association (IFEA) World. Today, it is considered the most important festival in Korea.

The muds are the real protagonists of this extraordinary event. You get dirty and you will immerse yourself, from the tip of your hair to your feet, always with a smile on your face. Boryeong, and the whole region, are full of mud. Substances, whose characteristics and therapeutic qualities, are superior to those of the Dead Sea. Exceptional properties for the skin. So much to be used in cosmetics and in many other products.

Thus, in the 1998, it was decided to organize the first festival, lasting 4 days. The answer went well beyond expectations: Boryeong was literally invaded by tourists, bringing an income of 350 million won. Digit absolutely beyond imagination. Numbers, today, even pulverized.

Therefore, Mud Boryeong Festival is an opportunity to discover a truly unique and extraordinary event, in an equally unique and evocative setting.

PRACTICAL INFO

HOW TO GET

Boryeong is located about 200 kilometers south of the capital. By making one or more stops, there will be no difficulty in reaching Seoul by plane.

Once landed, you can easily get to Boryeong by bus or train. The bus leaves, every day, at 08: 20, 10: 50, 14: 00, 17: 50 and 19: 30. The bus that stops, leaves, every day at 06: 40, 10: 15, 13: 20, 15: 50, 18: 40. Take the following route: East Seoul – Neposhin city – Hongseong – Gwangcheon – Cheongso – Jupo – Jugyo – Boryeong Daecheon.

The ticket, on both buses, costs 10900 WON (about 7 €).

PROGRAM MUD BORYEONG FESTIVAL 2024

The program of the Mud Festival is full of events and initiatives. The highlight is definitely the BATTLE IN THE MUD, where you can fight in the pools full of mud. Here are other initiatives not to be missed:

MUD GIANT BATH: a giant mud bath for the whole family.
PRISON MUD: amazing models, sculptures and mud jails!
MUD BODY PAINT: you will be models for professional bodypainting designers, who will use colored mud on your body.
SUPER MUD SLIDE: enjoy the thrill of speed and rebounds on slides of mud.

In addition, there will be extraordinary shows and shows to watch. The beautiful STREET PARADE on the streets of Boryeong. Or, the parades of the yachts and, above all, that of the BLACK EAGLES; the planes will perform on the skies above Dacheon beach in a whirl of lights, sounds and colors.

The shows are held every day, from 09:00 to 18:00.

TICKETS

Tickets and the official 2024 schedule have not yet been disclosed. Here are the rates applied during the last edition of the festival.

The Regular Ticket, from 20 to 64 years old, costs 12,000 WON (about €8), from Monday to Thursday, and 14000WON the weekend. Children between the ages of 11 and 19 pay the reduced rate of 10,000 and 12,000 WON.

In the children’s area (KIDS ZONE), access is only accompanied by adults, by purchasing a special ticket. Children aged 3 to 10 pay 4000WON from Monday to Thursday and 11000WON from Friday to Sunday; companions pay 4000WON and 6000WON.

Free admission for children up to 3 years of age, over 65 and disabled with a companion.
