Red Hair Days

Tilburg is a charming university city in North Brabant, located almost halfway between beautiful Rotterdam and Eindhoven.
Today it is a city with a lively character and lively nightlife, with many pubs, museums and nature reserves. It is very famous especially in Holland due to its proximity to the beautiful Efteling Park (which we were lucky enough to admire).

Every month, on the last weekend of August, you can admire this city turning red. In this period, in fact, Tilburg hosts one of the most incredible and picturesque events you can witness: the Red Hair Days, or Roodharigendag, as they say in these parts.
Thousands of red heads, one next to the other, moving through the streets of the city. A truly one-of-a-kind festival in which this hair color is celebrated.

A real red river, between pride, connection and sense of belonging. A reason not to feel discriminated against, in a world where people with red hair represent only a minimal percentage of the population. Although many people associate red hair with a lively and passionate character.

A truly complete festival that offers a full program of activities and events, and an entertainment program designed for adults and children. A special campsite will also be set up, where the color will be strictly red, combined… with green. The latter, in fact, was chosen as the theme of the Red Hair Days 2024: participants are invited to wear an ambia, a green shirt.

THE EVENT LOCATIONS

Since 2019, the festival has moved to the city of Tilburg. The city is easily accessible by car and train from major Dutch destinations.
Most of the activities take place in the Spoorpark, a large green lung located about 15 minutes walk from the historic center. The Park also hosts the campsite.

RED HAIR DAYS PROGRAM 2024

The Festival takes place from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August 2024. The program is truly rich and includes activities, music, entertainment and gastronomy.
On Friday 23rd there will be, as usual, the Kick-Off Party, the grand opening party. The following day, however, the long-awaited Pubcrawl with the best clubs and pubs in the city.
Sunday 25th, at 2.00pm, the eagerly awaited group photo, one of the key moments of the entire event. Only for this event is it required to have natural red hair.

Music and gastronomy will also be the great protagonists of the event. And for this occasion, the guest of honor at the 2024 edition will be Tom Seals, an eclectic artist from the European blues and swing scene.
And, again, inviting breakfasts (from 09:00 to 10:30), shared barbecues (17:00-19:00) and street food in the large Spoorpark area.

Numerous initiatives will also be planned for children. There will be workshops, face painting areas and areas with games and bouncy castles.
