WHERE: Madrid, Spain
WHEN: from 06 to 08 July 2023
Madrid vs Barcelona.
Using football terms, many speak of “El Clasico”, indicating a challenge that has always distinguished the two Spanish cities.
Since 2016, Madrid and Barcelona have also rivaled the music scene.
Until recently, in fact, in terms of festivals, the Catalan city was unrivaled, thanks to its Primavera Sound Barcelona. Despite not having the same story as its rival, Mad Cool Festival was able to carve out a leading role immediately. Today, it is considered the reference point of European summer festivals.
Obtaining, already from the first edition, an incredible success in terms of spectators, enough to force the organizers to move the location from 2018.
Music, of course, is the undisputed protagonist of the Mad Cool Festival. The genres represented are manifold: pop, indie, rock, electronics, alternatives …
However, art in all its forms, gastronomy and tourism are celebrated at the event. Bon is a coincidence, in fact, that the Festival takes place almost close to the Pride Festival / Orgullo Madrid!

International artists and important headliners were, of course, another successful element of the Festival. Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, Kings of Leon, The Who, Prodigy, Depeche Mode, to name a few. For this year, just browse the lineup to realize the importance of the festival.
And, to frame the splendid Madrid. Ideal opportunity to visit the splendid Spanish capital.
Espacio Mad Cool is the location of the festival. The area is located north-east of the city, not far from Barajas and the homonymous international airport, which is less than 10 km away.
Arriving to Madrid by plane, it will be quite easy to get to the festival. You can use the Cercanias de Madrid rail network, from Aeropuerto T4 to Valdebebas, in a journey of 5 minutes in total. A few minutes walk and you will have arrived.
Valdebebas is the closest train stop. Coming from the center, you will have to make several changes to get to your destination. The quickest way, probably, is to start from the central Sol, near Plaza Major, and, from here, by metro, to reach Chamartin; from the latter, the C1 train takes you to Valdebebas.
Unlike the last edition, this year the festival will take place over 4 days. The names on the bill are really top notch. Here are the artists who will perform over the 4 days of the Mad Cool Festival Madrid:

Even at Mad Cool, Tickets will be sold in progressive stages, with increasing prices. For each stage, availability is limited, so if you don’t plan ahead, you will hardly be able to buy a ticket.
The complete pass for 4 days costs 249€ (standard) and 543.75€ (VIP). Obviously it is better to hurry because the tickets are literally pulverized in a short time. The single day ticket of your choice costs 108.38€ per person in the standard version and 223.12€ VIP.
Prices shown include taxes and fees. The VIP versions offer access to exclusive areas, separate rows and a privileged view of the stage.
The lack of a camping area is one of the major shortcomings of the Festival. If you want to stay near the Espacio Mad Festival, you must book your property several months in advance.
Of course, you can always opt for Madrid, moving, if necessary, by car or rail.
