Sineu Spring Fair

Sineu is a beautiful inland village of Maiorca, located just under 40 km from the capital, Palma.
In ancient times, it was one of the most important places on the island, as well as the King’s second residence.

The political importance, has been diminishing over the centuries, however, the town has been able to maintain a strong identity, remaining particularly tied to its traditions.
Today, in addition to hosting a traditional market that attracts many tourists, the place is famous for the famous Sa Fira, Sineu Spring Fair, which takes place on the first Sunday of May.

This is an important agricultural, livestock and artisan event, which takes place every first Sunday in May. An extraordinary display with fruit, vegetables and livestock. Space, of course, also for agricultural machinery exhibitions. Nothing is really missing in what can be considered the most important of the Iberian spring fairs.

PRACTICAL INFO

GET IN

The small village of Sineu is located in the hinterland of the island of Mallorca, just less than 40 km from Palma.
Sineu is easily accessible by car, mostly along the Ma-3011.
Alternatively, the place is also accessible by public transport.
The T3 bus operates from the Stacion Intermodal of Palma, and stops a few minutes away from the center and the Sineu Market.

In the city there are several parking lots, although availability is quite limited. It is advisable to arrive with adequate advance. A large unpaved square is at the end of the Ma-3300, before Cami Marcadero. Other areas are along Carrer Fronto and along Carrer de l’Estacio, not far from the train station.

WHAT TO DO AND SEE

In the main square of the village, dominated by the Church of Santa Maria, numerous stalls display fruit, vegetables, plants, objects and clothes.
The cattle fair occupies, almost entirely, Plaça del Fossar.
You will find animal samples and displays of agricultural machinery and equipment along the adjacent streets of Sineu Spring Fair.
