If you want to attend the most important Flamenco festival in the world, you should make a stop in Jerez de la Frontera, a beautiful city in the heart of Andalusia, about 100km from beautiful Seville.
Each year, the city hosts the Jerez Festival, an event that attracts numerous spectators, and media, from all over the country. This year it reaches its 26th edition.

An event where you can attend about 150 wonderful performances in which song, dance and “flamenco” guitar are the common denominator. Artists of great fame and depth will give life to performances of extraordinary quality. An extraordinary festival where artists and spectators will be able to share their love for flamenco and Spanish dance.

The Festival is also the right opportunity to learn this art form up close. During the two weeks, there will be activities, workshops and courses. And above all, you can admire a beautiful city. Not just Flamenco. Monuments, museums, palaces, neighborhoods, botegas…

LOCATION

Museums, theaters and even renowned Bodegas. There are numerous locations of the Jerez Festival, all quite central.
The main location will be the Villamarta Theater, declared in 1988 a Cultural Interest. It is located at Pl. Romero Martínez, 20, near the central Plaza del Arenal, a short distance from the Cathedral.
You can easily reach the theater on foot, even from the train station, which is about ten minutes away.

JEREZ FESTIVAL PROGRAM 2022

The XXVI edition takes place from February 17th to March 5th, for a total of 17 days.
Here are some of the unmissable performances at the Villamarta Theater. Start at 8.30pm for all major shows.
Thursday 17 great debut for the centenary of Antonio Ruiz Soler, one of the choreographers and dancers who most marked the history of Spanish dance in the twentieth century. Appointment with the Ballet Nacional de España.
Reply the following day.
Saturday 19th, world premiere for the Mercedes Ruiz Company.
On Sunday 20 it will be the turn of the Compañía de Danza Flamenca Carmen Cortés, with the show “¡Gira, corazón! Bailando con Lorca en la Edad de Plata ”.
The following days, the protagonists will be, in chronological order, Maria Moreno, Manuela Carpio (world premiere), Alfonso Losa, Rocío Molina (debut in Andalusia), Farruquito, Manuel Liñán, Manuela Carrasco.
Great appointment Wednesday 02 March with the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucia who will stage the show “El maleficio de la mariposa de Federico García Lorca”.
Friday 04 will be the turn of Mercedes de Cordoba.

TICKETS

Tickets can be purchased directly through the official website. Prices vary depending on the location.
Prices for the Villamarta theater vary depending on the seat. The price for the amphitheater is €30.00. For the audience, € 34.00. Patio de butacas and Principal cost € 39.00 instead. The handling and management costs, to be added to the total, are €1.75 per ticket.

It is advisable to book well in advance because the availability is rather limited, and the demand is quite high.
