In one of the most magical and suggestive lands, like Transylvania, mystery becomes magic … and invades the whole city, in a jubilation of colors, lights and perfumes.

Among the typical stalls, rides and charming trains, the Christmas of Sibiu opens its doors to visitors for a truly unforgettable holiday. At the center of the scene, great protagonist, the beautiful Christmas tree, all lit up.

The historic center with its magnificent Baroque architecture, and Piata Mare, the striking central square, represent the heart of Christmas in Sibiu. Among the mountains and landscapes of Transylvania. Try to imagine if, in this context, it should even start to snow !!

From a niche event, born over 10 years ago, Christmas in Sibiu has turned into a real event. Today, it is a festival that welcomes visitors from all over Romania, and from every corner of Europe. Inauguration on Sunday 16th November 2025 at 19:00, with the ignition of the Big Tree, at the central square.

THE MARKETS

Piata Mare hosts over 100 exhibitors from the city and from every corner of the country.
In an atmosphere of yesteryear, you can wander through the stands in search of the best gifts. In these parts, quantity and quality go hand in hand.
Objects, artifacts, jewelry, traditional handmade products are just some of the products on the stalls. Each decorated for a party.

Among the most popular items, hats and leather. But, also, a lot of gastronomic products and, above all, sweets. The inevitable vin brulé is ideal for the right amount of warmth for your body.

Do not miss a visit to the Street Food Zone. Ideal for a stop for lunch or dinner.
The stalls will be present throughout the period, from 10:00 to 22:00.

The name almost unpronounceable, represents the Santa’s Park, a real joy for the little ones. Indeed, precisely to them, the organizers have always given great attention.

In this sort of Christmas mini-village, children can have fun with a fantastic little train, a big carousel in the company of favorite characters. There will also be real races and the inevitable skating rink at the market square.
