Sibiu Airport, in Transylvania. How to arrive by direct plane, connections

Sibiu Airport

Sibiu Airport is an international airport serving the historic Transylvania Region, located just 3 kilometers west of the Romanian city.

Less busy than the Cluj Napoca airport, Sibiu airport has gained new life thanks to the recent modernization phase and numerous investments. Wizz Air and RyanAir have inaugurated several flights to Sibiu. Thus, the airport has seen its passenger volume almost triple in less than 4 years, exceeding half a million in the last year.

The building houses a single Terminal where you will find all essential services: ATM, medical assistance area and free Wi-Fi line. There is no shortage of shopping areas, duty-free and several dining options.

The bus station is located in the immediate vicinity of the Terminal entrance.
Bus 11 connects the two terminus Calea Cisniadei and SC Continental every day, passing through Sibiu Airport. The bus operates from Monday to Friday, from 05:30 to 23:00 approximately, with frequencies from 10 to 20 minutes. Saturday and Sunday, runs approximately every 30 minutes, from 06:00 to 22:20. The ticket valid for a single journey (Bilet una calatorie) costs 2LEI (approximately €0.45). It is purchased exclusively at the vending machines in the local currency.

Given the far from excessive prices, the taxi is an excellent solution to reach the center. The latter, in fact, is just a few kilometers away, and the cost of the trip will be less than €10.

Outside the Terminal, you will find the taxi rank. It is recommended to always use official taxis only. Impossible to go wrong: they all have a clear sign, license identification number and taximeter. According to a specific law, the maximum applicable rate MAY NOT EXCEED 3.10LEI per kilometer.
