Tollwood is a festival that combines art, music and culture, from the 1991. Organized by Tollwood GmbH, it takes place twice a year, in Munich, The Tollwood Sommerfestival, as its name suggests, is the summer appointment, hosted at the Olympiapark in Monaco; the Winterfestival, instead, it is housed in Theresienwiese, in the heart of the Bavarian city.

Particularity of the Festival is the Market of Ideas. A magical place where, among colored stands, smells and extraordinary aromas, you will appreciate the local gastronomy. Organic products and products from the fair trade market; vegetarian and vegan foods. On the Market of Ideas of Tollwood Summerfestival, await many stands, with over 50 restaurateurs and young craftsmen. Even in the latter case, the products are all of certified origin.

The Festival has always tried to connect the cultural offer of music, theater, cabaret and art, with an ecological and environmental awareness. It is no coincidence that he received the organic certification of the gastronomic festival, from the winter 2003; while, in the 2006, “Bio for children” was developed, in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Environment of the City of Monaco. In addition, Tollwood GmbH is the protagonist of a real battle against intensive farming.

But of course, music will be the great protagonist of the Tollwood Sommerfestival 2023. A whole month of shows, concerts and live performances, of different musical genres; it ranges from rock to jazz and blues. At the Musik-Arena, on stage, there will be artists from the national and international scene; recall names, and emerging artists.

PRACTICAL INFO

HOW TO GET

Thanks to the presence of Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, Monaco can easily be reached by direct flight from the main European and extra-European destinations. From the airport, with the suburban railway, you arrive in the city center.

Tollwood is well connected to public transport. We strongly advise against using the car. STADTBUS 144, stops right at Tollwood, and runs every 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can use the 53 bus or the 12 Tram, getting off at Infanteriestraße, or, Leonrodplatz; in 10 minutes of walking you reach the destination. With the Citybus 173, 177, 178, we descend to Petuelring; with the 20 and 21 Trams, the closest stops to the Tollwood Sommerfestival are Leonrodplatz and Olympiapark West.

Night service, on the other hand, is guaranteed every night, from Monday to Friday, from the N20 and N27 trams, and the N43 and N44 buses. More info on public transport and tickets in Munich, through our special page, from this link.

TOLLWOOD SOMMERFESTIVAL TIMETABLES AND TICKETS

From Monday to Friday, shows, shows and workshops, according to schedule, from 14:00 to 01:00. Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 rooms at 01:00.

Food stands open until midnight. Andechser Tent, up to 01:00.

Tickets can be purchased on the official website. There is no shortage of totally free events and exhibitions.

  • Tuesday 16 July, at 19:30. Loreena McKennitt (72.40€)
  • Sunday 21 July, at 19:00. Closing show with Pur (66.40€).

CHILDREN

Here, it is possible to do everything. With this motto, children can have fun every day with the rich program of activities dedicated to them. Between workshops, playful activities and cooking classes, there is only the embarrassment of choice. And, every Sunday, theatrical activities and puppet shows. All events dedicated to children are free.
