River of Light Liverpool 2025

An extraordinary celebration of the art of illuminations. This year, Liverpool hosts the River of Light, now in its eighth edition.

For 10 days, the event will illuminate the city’s most iconic areas with splendid installations by the best British and European artists. Last year, guests admired splendid tulips, gnomes, hourglasses, and giant chess pieces… this year, the artists will try to outdo themselves, and it’s a safe bet they’ll succeed.

Each year, the works are installed according to a specific theme. This year, they will focus on “Optics: Science and Light.” And, as is tradition, the Royal Albert Dock architectural complex will be the star of the event.

HOW TO GET THERE

Liverpool is easily accessible by direct flights from numerous European destinations. Manchester Airport, one of the UK’s busiest airports in terms of passenger traffic, is also approximately 70 km away.

The Royal Albert Dock complex, the main venue for River of Light Liverpool 2025, is easily accessible by public transport. Bus lines 4 and 4A stop nearby. James Street, the Merseyrail station, is just over a 10-minute walk away.
The central Lime Street is also about a 20-minute walk away.

RIVER OF LIGHT FESTIVAL 2025 PROGRAM

The eighth edition of the River of Light Liverpool will take place over 10 days, from Friday, October 24th to Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM.

The theme of this edition will be “Optics: Science and Light” The works will be installed along the Royal Albert Dock complex and at key locations around the city.
