WHERE: Montblanc, Spain
WHEN: from 19 to 28 April 2024
During Middle Ages, outside the walls of Montblanc, Sant Jordi killed a dangerous dragon, saving the princess and the city.
Where the dragon’s blood was spilled, red roses grow today.
One of the most exciting events of the Catalan spring originates from this ancient legend: the Setmana Medieval. In 1987, the first representation of that event took place at the Plaza Mayor. Since then, the party has expanded, obtaining a following of not indifferent fans. And also numerous awards.
Despite its success, Montblanc Medieval Week has managed to retain its popular character, remaining rooted in its roots and tradition.
The event takes place every year during the two weekends during which the anniversary of the Patron Saint, the 23 April falls. The Setmana Santa program is really rich. Among the unmissable events, the representation of the legend of Saint Jordi, and the splendid Medieval Market.
We are sure you will not be disappointed by this fantastic review. Seeing is believing.

The best way to reach Montblanc is from Barcelona. The latter is well connected to the main European and extra-European destinations, with direct flights. El Prat e Girona they are the two international airports that serve the city.
Montblanc can be reached by train from Barcelona Sants. The R.EXPRESS train connects the two cities in about two hours. Alternatively, you can stop at Lleida and, from here, continue towards Montblanc; the travel time is, however, about two hours.
Another solution to get there is the car. You might consider renting one directly at the airport.
Here are the main events scheduled for the 37th edition of the Setmana Medieval

To be able to find one accommodation in the city, during Montblanc Medieval Week, you have to book well in advance.
The offer, in this period, is rather limited. Close to the event, it is practically unlikely to find available rooms.
Better, therefore, opt for alternative solutions. A few kilometers from here, Mas de Caret Agroturisme it represents more than an alternative. The guest house offers rooms with a balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside and a private bathroom with a shower. Excellent value for money. Book your room at the best price, from this link.
Alberg Jaume is the best economic solution, in Espluga de Francolí, about 6 km from Montblanc, in an area particularly renowned for trekking. The property offers double rooms with shared bathrooms, less than €30 per night.
