Viareggio, Venice, Ivrea aren’t your cup of tea? Are you looking for an alternative Carnival? Imola is for you.
The Emilian city has always been famous throughout the world for the presence of the “Enzo and Dino Ferrari” International Racetrack. A place inextricably linked to the myth of Ferrari, Formula 1 and two wheels.
It is therefore not surprising that right here they wanted to invent imaginative vehicles to combine with one of the most loved events by adults and children. This is how the Imola Carnival was born, better known as the Carnival of Fantaveicoli (Fantasy Vehicles Carnival).
An event that has reached its 28th edition and is now recognized as the historic carnival of the Region.
PRACTICAL INFO
HOW TO GET THERE
Car and train are the ideal solutions for getting to Imola.
The city is located about 40 kilometers from Bologna, 160 km from Florence and about 250 from Milan.
By train, you always stop at Bologna Centrale and, from there, you arrive at your destination in about 20 minutes without changes with the Regional Train (Trenitalia).
THE FANTASY VEHICLES
Imagination. Ingenuity. Irony. Irreverence. Parading through the streets of the center will be the Fantaveicoli, or unique and imaginative vehicles created by their owners. Everyone can do it. There is no limit other than that of your imagination. They can be long, short, tall, low, with two or more wheels. They can be driven by one person or by groups. Obviously, they must always be relevant to the theme of the Carnival.
The Imola carnival is also a wink to ecology. Precisely for this reason, the Fantaveicoli must preferably be made of recovered or recycled materials.
FANTASY VEHICLES CARNIVAL PROGRAM 2025
The event takes place on a single date, Sunday 02 March 2025.
During the day, the parade will invade the streets of the center of Imola.
Participation is free and open to all. 3 different competitions with final prizes for the winners are planned: Fantaveicoli, Masked Groups, Masks and Bicycles. Only the last section is reserved exclusively for children up to 14 years old.
