Every year, from the 10 July to the 25 August, the wonderful Ragusa hosts one of the most anticipated events of the season: the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. It is one of the most important cultural and artistic events in all of Croatia.
An extraordinary review, with a rich schedule, and about 70 fantastic “open-air” appointments. You will experience fantastic performances ranging from classical music, drama, opera and theater. All this in the evocative context of the old city of Ragusa. A truly magical place for an equally wonderful event.
Dubrovnik Summer Festival was born in the distant 1950, with the idea of reviving the Croatian cultural history, traditions, artistic and creative spirit, with the charm and the baroque atmosphere of the city. This led to the emergence of an event of extraordinary appeal, particularly appreciated.
This year, the festival celebrates its 74rd anniversary. For the occasion, ample space will be given to the theatrical program, which has always been a point of reference for the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. There will be interesting performances by international guests and the most recent Croatian productions. Intriguing ballet performances. Musical projects, with great variety of ensembles, periods of style, genres and poetics with enviable artistic value. And of course, folk dance shows and folk music.
Dubrovnik can be easily reached by plane, with direct flight from the main European destinations. From Dubrovnik international airport, you can get to the center, and in the old city, by bus.
The old city is easily accessible and can be easily turned on foot.

The 74th edition of the Festival, as usual, will take place from July 10th to August 25th.
Shows, unless otherwise indicated, always start at 21:30.
A different show is scheduled every day. Fort Lovrjenac, Rector’s Palace Atrium, Revelin Fort Terrace and the Gradac Park are some of the places that will host the events. The grand opening ceremony will take place on Monday 20 July, in the evocative setting of the Church of St.Blaise. Appointment at 21:00. The event will be broadcast live on Croatian national TV and radio.
The 74th edition of the Festival will host 3 premières. On July 12, on the island of Lokrum, the show of Ivana Lovrić Jovic. Appointment at 21:30 with repeats on 13 and 14 July. Friday July 21, at Fort Lovrjenac, the twelfth night of Grzegorz Jarzyna. Performances from 22 to 25. Thursday 17 August, at Gradac Park, women become visible protagonists of the vibrant daily life of Dubrovnik with The Melancholic Women of Ragusa. Reruns from 18 to 21.
Among the events not to be missed on 02 and 03 August is The Great Gatsby with the Ballet company of the Croatian National Theater of Split. At Fort Revelin terrace.
Tickets can be purchased directly online, or at the ticket offices. The price varies according to the exhibition.
The ticket to attend the 3 premieres costs from a minimum of €30 to a maximum of €50 per person depending on the seat. To attend the Ballet show or the performance of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, you pay up to 70€.
Some exhibitions are totally free and do not require the purchase of an entrance ticket. Among them, the opening ceremony and the July 11th show, the Synergy Festival Tour (July 19th and 20th). And, again, the shows of Zvjezdan Ružić (July 30, Fort Revlin) and Romana Milutin Fabric (August 01, Sponza Palace).
The old city is ideal for enjoying the beauty of the place and the atmosphere of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
