WHERE: Munich, Germany
WHEN: from 22 February to 24 March 2024
Who said that to attend the biggest beer event in Munich, do you have to wait until September?
From March to early April, for about one month, the Bavarian city is ready to welcome hordes of “thirsty” tourists to its Starkbierfest. It is one of the most interesting events of the month, dedicated to his majesty the Beer.
Over 3 weeks of pure fun at the main “Biergarten” of the city that open their doors to the Munich Starkbierfest. The event takes place in the Munich metropolitan area. There are stands just like at Oktoberfest, and 4 main labels including Augustiner, Paulaner and Löwenbräu.
The name Starkbierfest contains the very essence of the event; it literally means, in fact, Festival of strong beer. A force that originates mainly from the taste and flavor of the proposed beer, whose guidelines impose an alcohol content of at least 7,5%. The latter is characteristic of the precious Salvator Stout, produced by the master brewers Paulaner monks, according to the traditional recipe. The famous Doppelbock, until the nineteenth century, was exclusive only to the monks and the prince. Later it was marketed during the period of Lent. Someone claims they did it to get visitors !!!
