Cavatast 2024

Cava is a very popular traditional wine in Spain. It is produced with the “champenoise” method, the same as in Champagne, and obtained with different grape varieties; among these, the main ones are Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel·lo, autochthonous varieties of Penedés, a small Catalan area.

And, right in Catalonia, every first weekend of October is celebrated the XXVIII Cava Festival, one of the most popular events for lovers of good drink. Appointment, as usual, in the small town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, about 40 minutes away from Barcelona. It is one of the most important countries in the production of wine

In addition to the “bubbles”, at Cavatast 2024 you can savor the dishes of Catalan gastronomy. You can browse through the various stands of the Fair, looking for the best culinary proposals. Waiting for you, there will be 22.000 gastronomic tastings. And, of course, it will be the Cava the great protagonist of the 3 days of the Festival, with over 42.300 wine tastings.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the cellars open for the occasion. You will be able to know, in close proximity, the techniques used in the production. The Celler de la Fassina will be a real nerve center this year, with workshops, workshops, activities and, of course, tastings. At Cavatast, you will find a warm and welcoming environment. The proximity with Barcelona, among other things, makes it ideal for a “hit and run” during a holiday in the wonderful city of Gaudi.

HOW TO GET

The most comfortable method to get to the Cavatast, is landing at Barcelona El Prat. The international airport is well connected to the main European and extra-European destinations. Alternatively, you could opt for the airport Girona. From the latter, by car, you get to the center.

Saint Sadurní d’Anoia is located less than 50 kilometers from Barcelona and can be easily reached by public transport. From Barcelona Sants, by train R4 line, you get in about 45′ to your destination (10 stops).

CAVATAST 2024 TIMETABLES AND TICKETS

The XXVIII edition of the Food and Wine Festival takes place over three days, with the following times:

• Friday 04th October, from 19:00 to 23:00.
• Saturday 05th October, from 12:00 to 23:00.
• Sunday 06th October, from 12:00 to 21:00.
