Thanks to the presence of six international airports, London can easily be reached by plane.
There are, in practice, connections with every corner of the planet and with all the continents.
Such a wide choice, it offers the possibility to better manage one’s flights and, above all, to opt for one’s own budget.
All the airports are well connected to the city, thanks to the train and the buses. Alternatively, you can opt for the more expensive taxis.
National Express offers fast and fast connections between one airport and another.
Heathrow is the largest airport in Europe, and one of the most important in the world for passenger traffic.
British Airways and Virgin hub, it consists of 5 huge terminals. Gatwick, on the other hand, is the second largest airport in Great Britain, due to passenger traffic. It is also one of the 10 busiest airports in Europe. It is located about 45 km south of the capital.
Stansted is an international airport located near the town of Stansted Mountfitchet in Essex county. It is about 50 km away from London, and is the fourth largest airport in the United Kingdom for passenger traffic. To date, it is the real point of reference for Low Cost companies. In this, the Irish RyanAir is one of the main protagonists.
Luton and City are two other major international airports. Southend, the city’s sixth airport, currently offers connections to the British Isles.
From the UK, you can easily reach the capital by train. Northern and other companies offer fast connections from major British destinations.
In just over two hours by train, you can get there from Liverpool and Manchester.
From Glasgow, Scotland, it takes approximately 4.5 hours, and a total of 7 stops.
Also from Great Britain, the car is an excellent solution for traveling to London and neighboring destinations. Obviously, as soon as you arrive in the city, you have to leave the car stationary and move exclusively by public transport.
To get to London from France, you go through the Eurotunnel. This is undoubtedly a fascinating solution. Eurotunnel connects Calais, in France, with Folkestone, in England. From the latter, you can arrive in the capital in just under two hours by car, crossing the approximately 110km on the M20.
To reach London with Eurotunnel you need to pay for a special ticket, which can be purchased directly online, on the official website. There are different cuts and types. With the Short Stay ticket, you can make a round trip within 5 days for £85 (non-refundable). Please note, however, that tickets are available in limited quantities. To get the cheapest rate, book well in advance. The standard rate, on the other hand, costs £106 in the non-refundable version and £146 in the refundable version. The Flexiplus tickets, on the other hand, offer dedicated check-in, wifi and other options starting from £209
Each ticket is valid for one car and up to 9 people in tow.
