When it comes to the climate in New York it is difficult to outline. The range of minimum and maximum temperatures, in fact, is quite wide and sometimes you may encounter large differences during the same day. Especially in spring and autumn.
The reason is mainly due to its position which makes it particularly subject to numerous currents. The tropical ones, which mainly blow in the summer, can lead to temperatures near 40 degrees. It is certainly not the best time when to go to New York to visit the city; you will find yourself, perpetually, passing from the heat of the outside, to the cold of the air conditioners of the locals and city museums.
July and August are the busiest times: the parks are particularly crowded.
In winter, polar currents can lower temperatures down to -20. The average, in full winter, remains however around -3/5 degrees. January and February are the coldest months. December retains its charm intact: this is the month of Christmas, when magic becomes reality. Admiring the snowy city, and lit up for the party, is priceless.
March, June, October and December are the most frequent precipitation messages.

BEST PERIOD WHEN GOING TO NEW YORK
The months between early and late summer are, without a doubt, the best. In May and September you will almost always find good weather. They are ideal times to move around the city and visit the attractions. It is quite warm during the day: nothing comparable to the months of July and August. In the evening, temperatures drop and become really pleasant. These are also the least rainy months.
PERIODS TO AVOID
January and February are the coldest months of the year and probably the periods of the year to avoid.
