Newark Liberty is one of the main international airports in the New York metropolitan area. It is located in New Jersey, about 16km west of Manhattan.
Together with JFK it is one of the busiest, by passenger volume, in America.
United Airlines’ US hub, has 3 Terminals: A, B and C. The first is dedicated exclusively to domestic flights.

NEWARK LIBERTY LINKS – UNITED STATES

AIRTRAIN NEWARK

Airtrain is the practical, and most reliable, solution for moving between terminals, at the airport, and arriving in New York, Jersey City with NJ TRANSIT. You can use Airtrain in connection with Amtrak to reach the most distant Boston and Washington DC.
You can move easily between the terminals, via the numerous stops at the airport.
Airtrain Newark is operating 7 days a week, including holidays, 24 hours a day, with frequencies of 3 minutes until 11.00 pm, and 15 minutes after midnight.
Airtrain is FREE to move within the terminals. Otherwise, you will have to pay the $7.75 ticket. This cost is included in the AMTRAK and NJ TRANSIT ticket.
Children under the age of 11 travel for free with a paying adult.
Newark Penn Station, can be reached in about 10 minutes, with NJ TRASNIT connection. Midtown Manhattan, in about 30 minutes, at a cost of about $15. In about 40 minutes, however, you will be at the World Trade Center.
With Airtrain and Amtrak connections, you can even go to Boston in about 3 hours ($104) and Washington DC in 5 hours for $110.

You can buy tickets at vending machines, machines that display the NJ Transit, Amtrak and retail stores.
You can easily carry your bags, even bulky ones, and strollers. Transport of bicycles is also allowed, up to 2 per train.
Stations and trains are perfectly accessible for people with reduced mobility, and in wheelchairs.

The stations are easily identifiable.

BUS

Airtrain Newark is the most practical solution for travel to / from Newark Liberty. Buses are recommended only for reaching nearby Irvington, Downtown Newark and Newark Penn Station. You can use public transport operated by NJT BUSES.

TAXI AND CAR

With the recent regulations, before using the taxi you will have a clear idea of the amount you should pay.
From/to Newark Liberty, in fact, the normal rate of $0.5 per kilometer is always applied. To this, however, you will have to add a supplement, fees and commissions of around $22.
Attention: on weekends, during peak times and at night, the rate could go up to $1 per kilometer. Always make sure of the amount of the trip before getting on the vehicle. To reach New York City, the price varies between $50 and $70 depending on the distance.

Newark Liberty is served by the U.S. Route 1/9, connected to Route 81 and Intersate 79. At the airport you will find numerous rental agencies.
