Split is the starting point, coming from abroad. The city is well connected by sea and air, with many European destinations. From this link, all the info to reach Split and get to the port. From the latter, located in the center, ferries depart daily for Supetar.
In high season, the Jadrolinja shipping company guarantees up to 15 daily direct trips from Split to Supetar (northwest). The crossing lasts about 50 minutes, and the ticket costs €6.50 for adults and €3.20 for children up to 12 years. Info on the official website, from this link. Alternatively, from Makarska there are connections to Sumartin, located on the eastern side of the island. The journey, in this case, lasts about an hour.
Those who have cars in tow, can easily embark their vehicle, both from Split and from Makarska. In this case, the price starts from €26.10 for a vehicle less than 4 meters in length and €40.30 for cars up to 5 meters.
Every day there are also 2 connections to Bol, in the southern part of the Croatian island. The crossing lasts one hour and the ticket costs 9.70 per adult and 4.70€ per child from 4 to 12 years. Free for children up to 3 years. It is not possible to embark cars on this ship.

On the Croatian island, there is a small international airport, which operates exclusively during high season. The connections are quite small and, therefore, the solution is only feasible in the case of direct connection with your city.
Otherwise, the solution by sea is preferable.
