Inaugurated in 1934, today it is one of the places not to be missed on vacation to L.A.

Unlike many others, it is a permanent market. Every day, it is literally besieged by inhabitants, tourists and the curious.

Among the more than 100 exhibitors, shops and market stalls of the permanent market, you can find fruits, vegetables, and many fresh products of the day. You can buy the products or, if you prefer, consume them at kiosks that offer seating.
The protagonists are the dishes of American and ethnic cuisine. The presence of Latin American and Asian communities is thick.

You can reach the area by car and public transport.

The parking areas are located in the north and south of the market. Pay particular attention to the price that could rise up to $30.
All you have to do is make a purchase at the Market, of any amount, to receive a receipt. Thanks to it, you will enjoy 90 minutes of free parking, buying from a merchant; 2 hours of free parking, by buying in a qualified store in the Market. After this time, you will pay as much as $ 3 for the first 15 minutes, and $ 1 for every 15 minutes.
If you don’t buy anything, you will always pay $2 for every 15 minutes, up to a maximum of $30 for the whole day.

The farmers market is easily accessible even with public transport operated by Metro. From Downtown, it takes about 35 minutes by bus 16, from 5th/Grand to 3rd/Ogden.
