The Algarve is, without a doubt, an extremely fascinating and suggestive area. Despite being extremely touristy.
There are several ways to go to the discovery of this fantastic region. You can face a wonderful trip on the road, by car or motorbike. Or, use the Linha do Algarve which connects, by train, the two terminus of Lagos and Vila Real de Santo Antonio. Even more fascinating, however, is to cross by bike, the approximately 220 kilometers of the Ecovia Litoral do Algarve.
This fantastic bike path crosses the Algarve from east to west, connecting Cabo de Sao Vicente a Vila Real de Santo Antonio, not far from the border with Spain.
The splendid Ecovia Litoral passes through numerous points of interest, towns and even beaches.
The beauty is to stop, from time to time, to admire unique views and landscapes. Crags, really wonderful headlands, to leave you breathless. Not forgetting the wonderful sunsets you can admire.
The Ria Formosa Natural Park, Albufeira, e Faro, with its beautiful old town, are just some of the beautiful places you will meet during your journey. And of course the beautiful and touristy Praia da Dona Ana, Praia de Camilo, and Porto de Mos.
A path to follow according to your times and your rhythms. And you will not miss to cross many other cyclists, along the over 200 kilometers of cycle path. Because, in these parts, the two wheels is a must; a real lifestyle. Have a good trip along the Ecovia Litoral do Algarve.
The first part of the journey, from Cabo Sao Vicente to Faro, is undoubtedly the most fascinating and spectacular. Recommended for those who chose to arrive in Faro by plane. It is ideal to go backwards, starting from this beautiful town, which you can visit in one or more days. From here, you can drive around the 110 kilometers of cycle path. At about 40 kilometers away from Faro, we pass the renowned Albufeira, an extremely lively town, ideal for spending the evening, and leaving.
Some sections of the Ecovia Litoral can be quite rough. Sometimes signs may be missing. However, you will not have difficulty moving along the way.
