Located on the Iberian Peninsula, it is the westernmost country in all of Europe, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In general, this is a particularly sunny country throughout the year. Although there are significant differences between North and South.

The climate, to the north, is typically Atlantic. Here, the most mountainous part of the country is concentrated. Rainfall is quite abundant and the climate is cool and rainy.
As you descend into the southern area, rains decrease and sunny days increase, a little ‘everywhere.
In the Algarve, the climate is rather dry, and sunny throughout the year.

Best time to go to Portugal

For sea lovers, the best time to go to Portugal is July and August. In recent months sea temperatures are above the seasonal average, especially in the South; keep in mind, in any case, that you will hardly find temperatures higher than 22 degrees!
In the central South, in summer, the heat is often torrid.

Generally, along the coast, the Ocean influences temperatures. The further you move away, the temperatures decrease; in particular, approaching the high-altitude areas where, in the middle of winter, even snow falls.
