Founded in 2003, the FIESA, in the Algarve, has obtained numerous acclaim and international fame.
Above all, thanks to the extraordinary works of art, exhibited during the event, in the small Lusitanian town of Pêra, not far from Albufeira.
For about 9 months, you will be able to see the largest sand sculpture exhibition in the world. A truly incredible and one-of-a-kind theme park. Size and quality that have earned the town the nickname of “Sand City“.
In over 15,000 square meters, 40,000 tons of sand are beautifully modeled according to a specific theme. There are over 100 sculptures to be admired every year.
During the various editions, visitors were able to admire Hollywood characters, ancient lost civilizations, idols, enchanted worlds, wonders of the world…
A place that will certainly make the little ones happy. In a truly magical atmosphere.
Pêra is located a few kilometers away from Albufeira, and about 50 from Faro International Airport. The latter represents the ideal starting point, coming from medium / long-range destinations.
You can reach the location, comfortably by car, following the signs for Lombos. The site is located between the main roundabout of Lagoa and the Rotunda de Porches (GPS: 11º00´01´43.35)
The program includes lots of entertainment, from morning to evening.
During the day, until the evening, throughout the area, you can admire the splendid sculptures. In the evening, however, space for live music, theater, dance and circus arts.
Furthermore, activities and workshops are planned throughout the day. Children and adults will be able to give vent to their creativity by creating their own sand sculptures.
The site is open at the following times:
Closed in the months of January and February.
The entrance ticket for an adult costs €11.90.
There are reductions for Over 65 and children. In the first case, the ticket costs €9.50; children aged 6 to 12, on the other hand, pay €5.90.
Free for children up to 5 years, accompanied by a paying adult.
A special FAMILY TICKET is available which offers access for two adults and two children for €29.90
The site is completely exposed to the sun. The considerable presence of sand, which attracts the rays, makes the place quite prohibitive in the hottest hours of the day.
Avoid visiting, therefore, between 12 and 16. Especially in the presence of children.
Preferable times are before and after sunset.
