Fløyen is one of the “Seven Mountains” that surround the charming Norwegian city of Bergen.
It is very popular with visitors because from the top of its 320 meters you can enjoy a truly wonderful view of the city.
Reaching the mountain is quite easy thanks to the Bergen funicular, known in these parts as Fløbanen (or Fløibanen).
A centenary plant, whose works began in the early 1900s.
It was officially inaugurated on January 15, 1918.
Since September 2021, the plant has been closed due to an important modernization phase. The works should be completed in April 2022, leading, among other things, to an increase in the capacity of more than 30% of passengers.
The station is located in the center, at Vetrlidsallmenningen 23A.
It is located just a few minutes away from the beautiful Bryggen district, and the fish market, not far from the ferry terminal.
Fløibanen is currently closed. The timetables refer to the period prior to September 2021:
The frequency of the races is 15′ and the journey takes a total of about 5 minutes.
The Bergen funicular is closed for modernization work until APRIL 2022.
