From Pergamum to Berlin, a concentration of archaeological history, which contains extraordinary testimonies of Mesopotamia, Egypt and ancient Rome. The Pergamonmuseum is, without a doubt, an unmissable event for those who find themselves in wonderful Berlin; it is one of the most important archaeological museums in the world, located on Museum Island on the River Spree. Each year, it attracts nearly 900,000 visitors.
You will have the chance to see up close some of the most incredible and fantastic ancient testimonies that have contributed to the fame of this museum all over the world … the altar of Pergamum, the market gate of Miletus and the Ishtar Gate, the processional way of Babylon and the Mshatta Facade, monumental reconstructions of complex archaeological buildings.
The Museum is located at Am Kupfergraben 5, Berlin.
You arrive with tram n. 12 or M1, at the Kupfergraben stop of the same name. Alternatively, it is possible to arrive by suburban S-Bahn trains, getting off at the Hackescher Markt stop, or the U-Bahn metro, line 6 – Friedrichstrasse stop.
The complex is open every day from Tuesday to Sunday, including holidays, from 10:00 to 18:00. On holidays, however, it is preferable to check the times in advance. On January 1st, for example, the opening of the Museum is postponed to 12:00.
Admission is allowed 30 minutes before closing.
The ticket, for adults, costs 12.00€. There is a 50% reduction for students and people with reduced mobility; in this case, the appropriate certification must be shown.
Currently (August 2021) no certification of negativity to COVID-19 is required, nor the Green Pass. Body temperature will be measured at the entrance, which must not exceed 37.5º. Instead, the surgical mask or FFPP2 is mandatory.
