Soller Railway. Practical info, guide, timetable, tram and train tickets

Soller Railway

A timeless tour through incredibly suggestive places. A truly fascinating journey that will take you back in time. Not just a train, but probably one of the most interesting excursions within the island of Mallorca.

The Soller train connects, in about an hour’s drive, the town with Palma de Mallorca. What makes the Soller Railway unique is, above all, rolling stock. The train is really well finished, picking up, in a meticulous way, the aspects and the work related to tradition.

Soller Railway

Furthermore, the route taken by the Soller Railway is truly wonderful and magical. Leaving behind Palma de Mallorca, in just 20 minutes you will find yourself among the island nature. To admire, the Serra de Tramuntana, and then the mountains of Bunyola; the very suggestive train passes through bridges, the mythical “cinc-ponts” viaduct with its five arches, and tunnels. Beautiful, and splendid, the natural barrier of the Sierra de Alfàbia mountain range, 2,8 km wide and 496 meters high.

Truly a journey of the past.

And, for a truly complete experience, do not miss a trip aboard the legendary Tram de Sòller. It is the first electric tram of the whole island, inaugurated in the distant 1913, to connect Soller with the port.

At one time, this tram was used for the transport of goods, such as fresh fish from the port; but also coal. Today it is used exclusively for passenger transport.

The Tram de Soller is truly an experience not to be missed. The trams numbered from 1 to 3, with their 5 and 6 trailers, are the original ones, dating back to 1912.
