Las Vegas. Guide and info on the city. Arriving by bus and car: connections

Las Vegas

Welcome to Fabolous Las Vegas Nevada. This is what the famous sign at the entrance to the city says.

In the desert, in Nevada, it makes a certain effect to see the infinity of lights of the city. Above all, coming by plane. A city, beautiful and cursed, a real … Sin City! A place where luxury and kitsch blend perfectly. You will be blinded by the pomp; from the mega-billboards announcing shows; from palm trees and fountains. You will meet many artists, disguised as Star Wars, Iron Man, Batman and other icons of American cinema.

And then there is the Strip, the famous street of Vegas, the hub of the most renowned Hotels and Resorts, of Casinos and the most unbridled Shopping ..

Its history dates back to 1905. Founded as a village, it was later recognized as a city, with the passage of the railway network in 1911. In 1931, with the new connection of the railway network in Salt Lake City and the abolition of the gaming ban in state of Nevada, Las Vegas began the change to become the city we know today. The first casino was the Flamingo in 1946, still in business today. In 1966 the Caesar Palace was inaugurated, one of the most important plants and still today very visited.

Las Vegas

Many associate Las Vegas, exclusively with gambling, adult shows or fake marriages. In reality, there is much more.

Here, the NBA Campus, and the most important Boxing meetings are hosted. Extraordinary shows are included in the program of immense theaters in renowned hotels. World famous artists perform in concerts: Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Carlos Santana, Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna … to name a few. Electrifying parties, and fantastic DJ sets, with the likes of Calvin Harris, Erik Morillo, Tiesto, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Martin Solveig.

In addition, Las Vegas is a strategic point to visit the Grand Canyon, an authentic wonder, easily visited over a whole day thanks to the numerous organized tours.

HOW TO GET

PLANE

The city boasts one of the busiest international airports in America: the McCarran. The airport is connected, with direct flights, with the main American destinations, and some Capitals and important European cities. It takes just under 11 hours to arrive, by plane, from Amsterdam or London. Air travel from San Francisco takes about 90 minutes. For New York, on the other hand, it takes just over 5 hours.

Harry Reid Airport is located just off the Strip. Taxis, buses, shuttles are the different options for getting to the city.

BUS

The Bus could be a less convenient solution, but certainly cheaper than the plane. Distances from major cities in the United States are by no means excessive. Amtrak, Megabus and Greyhound guarantee connections with Los Angeles (6 hours), San Diego (8 hours), San Francisco (15 hours).

Alternatively, you can use the bus in combination with the train. In this case, it is preferable to arrive by train in Kingman, Arizona (170 km / 105 miles); Needles, (185 km / 115 miles) or Barstow, both in California (250 km / 155 miles). Next, continue by bus with Greyhound.

CAR

One of the most picturesque ways to reach Las Vega. The highway crosses the desert and converges with Las Vegas from the main cities of the south-western region of the country.

From Los Angeles, you travel about 270 miles, most of them on Interstate 15. It takes more than 8 hours, instead, to arrive from San Francisco, around 570 miles; the journey takes place along I5 and I15. From New York, 2500 miles away, a trip by car can be predicted only by taking at least 3 stages, over several days.
