There are many types of Hamburg transport tickets. Tickets vary according to the area, or more correctly “Rings” (Ringe). The area marked with the letter A is the only one of interest because it crosses the entire tourist part and a limited number of more peripheral areas of Hamburg.
The ticket for a short journey (Kurzstrecke), valid for the AB rings, costs 1.80€. The single trip (Einzelkarte), zone AB, or for two trips, costs €3.40; the ticket for travel within 3 rings costs €5.50. The day ticket (Ganztageskarte) costs €8.10 and allows unlimited travel on all means within 24 hours. There is also a reduced version of the day ticket (9-Uhr-Tageskarte), valid after 09:00 in the morning, and costs 6.70€.

If you intend to move and visit the attractions, Kanoa recommends purchasing the HAMBURG KARD, available in 5 different types, for as many days, and two versions (Single or for Group). The single card can be used by an adult and up to 3 children up to the age of 14. The Group version is very interesting; at an extremely advantageous price, it is valid for 5 adults, regardless of age. In this way, a whole family can really save money.

The single day CARD (Tagesticket) costs €10.90 while the group card costs €18.90: the savings are evident. The 5-day version (5-Tageskarte) instead costs €43.90 (single) and €77.90 (group). The Card also entitles you to unlimited access on all public transport and numerous discounts of up to 50% on the main attractions of the city.

HAMBURG TRANSPORT TICKETS FOR CHILDREN

All children from 6 years up to 14 years of age pay the reduced rate. From the age of 14, the standard rate is paid.

The price starts from a minimum of €1.30 for a ticket for 2 rings and for zones AB (Einzelkarte), to a maximum of € 3.90. There is also a daily pass (Ganztageskarte Kind) of €2.50, for AB zones or two rings.

All children under the age of 6 always travel FREE when accompanied by a paying person.
