One of the most unique and unmissable places in Vienna is undoubtedly Hundertwasserhaus, or the Hundertwasser House. It is located in the eastern part of the capital, in the Landstraße district.
This incredible social housing complex, built in 1986, strikes almost immediately with its striking hues, vibrant colors and smooth lines, devoid of any sharp edges.
A series of truly incredible buildings, from the mind of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, brilliant and visionary Austrian architect. One of the most colorful places in Vienna.
Over the years, the buildings of the Hundertwasser House have attracted more and more visitors, becoming a real attraction. Thus, a real center (The Hundertwasser village) was built next to the individual houses.
Thanks to the presence of trees and shrubs on terraced balconies, the Hundertwasserhaus is a kind of green oasis in the heart of the city.
The structure, today, is managed by the Municipality of Vienna which rents the 50 interiors to families with real needs and, above all, to nuclei such as at least one active individual, or with a strong interest in the contemporary artistic world.

HOW TO GET
The Hundertwasser House is located in Kegelgasse, just over 2 kilometers east of the center (Innere Stadt).
Sports enthusiasts can even reach their destination on foot, walking for about half an hour.
By public transport, you can use tram 1, getting off at the nearby Hertzgasse stop.
WHAT TO DO AND SEE AT THE HUNDERTWASSER HOUSE
Being inhabited by private individuals, it is only possible to visit the external area and not the interiors.
On the other hand, you can visit the Hundertwasseer Village, created since 1990. Here, and in the immediate vicinity, numerous shops, bars, kiosks and cafes have sprung up over the years in the immediate vicinity.
Even the toilets were created ad hoc, in perfect “Hundertwasser style”, with decorative ceramics, fountains and bright colors, making this environment pleasant too.
