One of the Seven Wonders of Portugal
A building that cleverly combines the architectural influences and styles of its 150 years of construction.
A true masterpiece of the Portuguese late Gothic and Manueline, since 1983, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site is also part of the Portuguese World Heritage Triangle of monasteries.
Nothing else is needed to describe the importance and beauty of the Batalha Monastery, a splendid building around which the small inhabited settlement has developed.
A site that immediately appears majestic and beautiful. Extremely interesting from a historical and architectural point of view.
The interiors are truly fascinating, with decorations, sculptures, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the fountain.
Among the places not to be missed, the beautiful main cloister and the unfinished chapels (or imperfeitas), without the vault, but not without charm, with extraordinary decorations with the sky in the background!
