Naples. How to arrive by car, train, ferry from main destinations. Info, guide

Naples

Unique, magical, wonderful!

From what is said, narrated, or painted, Naples surpasses everything: the shore, the bay, the gulf, the Vesuvius, the city, the nearby countryside, the castles, the walks … I apologize all those to whom the sight of Naples makes you lose your senses!

Thus, a certain Goethe spoke of Naples. And, such sentences couldn’t be more truthful.

Naples is a truly wonderful city and, in some ways, truly unique. A city with a thousand faces and a thousand colors. A city that makes you fall in love at first sight, with its beautiful views; the suggestive views; the seaside; the traces of a splendid past, preserved in a truly unique way. Naples is a place where you can let yourself be transported aimlessly, among splendid alleys and hidden corners, ready to reveal your beauty.

A city that, once seen, makes you want to return. Seeing is believing.

HOW TO GET

Airplane, train, ship, car, bus. The options to reach the Neapolitan city are truly multiple and, all of them, really valid.

Naples

AIRPLANE

Capodichino International Airport is connected with direct flights to major cities and the great European capitals. This is the largest airport, as well as one of the busiest in terms of passenger numbers, in Southern Italy. The airport is located in the Capodichino area, a few kilometers from Naples Central Station. From the airport, a comfortable bus allows you to quickly reach the city center.

TRAIN

Napoli Centrale / Piazza Garibaldi, is the most important railway hub in Southern Italy. From here the fast trains of Trenitalia and Italo pass through to Rome, Florence, Milan and the main cities of the Italian peninsula. From Milan or Turin, connections with destinations across the border.

Regional trains allow you to reach more or less nearby cities.

CAR

Just over 200 kilometers separate Naples from the Italian capital, almost all of them on a motorway section. Such a short distance could be the ideal excuse for even just a trip. From Milan, you have to travel about 770 kilometers.

Ventimiglia, on the border with Southern France, is 860 kilometers away, passing through Genoa. To get to Switzerland, Austria or Germany, you go over 1000 kilometers.

SHIP

The Port of Naples is one of the most important and busiest in all of Europe. It is located in the center, and extends for a few kilometers towards its eastern part. Furthermore, numerous cruise ships dock here; the city, in fact, is one of the reference points, in this sense, worldwide!

Each day, there are over 70 crossings. Guaranteed connections with Sicily, the Gulf of Naples, the Aeolian Islands, the Pontine Islands, Sardinia, the Egadi Islands, the Island of Ustica and Italy. Routes to Palermo, Catania, Trapani and Milazzo, in Sicily; Ischia, Capri, Casamicciola, Procida and Forio, in the Gulf of Naples; Lipari, Panarea, Salina, Stromboli, Vulcano, Ginostra and Rinella, in the Aeolian Islands; Ponza and Ventotene, in the Pontine Islands; Cagliari, in Sardinia; Favignana, in the Egadi Islands; Ustica and Sorrento.
