Sitges, most beautiful cities in Spain. Catalonia and Costa Daurada

Sitges

The jewel of the Costa Daurada.
Beaches. Clubs and nightlife. Monuments. More and more people decide to spend their holidays in Sitges, now a reference point along the Catalan coast.

To favor tourism is of course the proximity to the splendid Barcelona (just 30 minutes), and the efficient connections (roads, railways).
Its sea and beaches, however, have little or nothing to do with Barcelona.

The historic center is truly impressive, with its enchanting streets and the beautiful promenade. The cuisine is “first of the class”: Xato is its typical dish (of course seafood), particularly appreciated by tourists and Catalans.

The pleasant climate all year round and the long sunny days also contribute to improving the experience. A city of attraction also from the organizational point of view that hosts some renowned international events and festivals (Theater Festival and Carnival).

Bubbly, lively and incredibly tolerant, it’s also Spain’s most gay-friendly city. Do you still have doubts about your next destination???

HOW TO GET TO SITGES

Barcelona El Prat International Airport is the closest to the city, about 30km away.
The smaller Reus airport, near Tarragona, is located 70 km south of the city.

TRAIN

Sitges can be reached from Barcelona in just over half an hour. Every day there are about 4 connections every hour from nearby Barcelona with the R2 line of Rodalies de Catalunya. The train takes about 35 minutes to arrive at your destination. The ticket costs €4.60 (single ride 4 zones) and can be purchased at the numerous automatic machines in the station.

The central train station is located in Plaça Eduard Maristany, in the center, less than 10 minutes walk from the main beaches (Platja San Sebastia).

CAR

The C31 and C32 are the two main arteries connecting Sitges to Barcelona. The C31, totally free, is a fairly busy coastal road that offers truly suggestive views of the coast. The C32, for a fee, allows you to reach the city more quickly.

From Valencia, to the south, you travel just over 300 km to arrive at your destination, on a mainly motorway route (E15 – AP7). The travel time is approximately 3 hours.
Times and double distances from the Capital, about 600 km away. You pass through Zaragoza (about 280 km) on a mainly motorway section.
