Mykonos is one of the biggest and most popular islands in Greece, famous for its beautiful beaches and its amazing nightlife. Cosmopolitan and tolerant island, it is probably one of the most evocative in the world, despite the chaos and crowds of August.

HOW TO GET TO MYKONOS

By ship and plane, you can reach the Cycladic island. During the summer months, traffic increases dramatically and as a result, prices soar.

ARRIVE BY SHIP

In summer, the Port of Mykonos is one of the busiest in all of Greece. There are more than 70 crossings every day, with a duration of 20 minutes or more, depending on the distance. Seajet, Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways are just some of the shipping companies that make the connections

Ferries from Mykonos connect the Cyclades with Athens, Crete, the Aegean Islands, Icaria, the Island of Samos and the main Greek islands, such as Folegandros, Naxos, Paros and Santorini. From Piraeus, by ferry, it takes about 4 and a half hours; by catamaran or High Speed (stopover in Syros and Tinos), the journey time is just over 3 hours. In the summer period daily connections. Keep in mind that the ships or catamarans to Mykonos do not leave very late, so we recommend that you be in Piraeus before 4pm, otherwise you will have to stay overnight in Athens and leave the next morning.

By ship, from Italy, you must first arrive in Igoumenitsa or Patras, then move by car in the direction of Peireias (Piraeus). From Patras, it takes about 210 km, almost all on the motorway section, always following the signs for Athens. The toll is just under € 10.
The distance from Igoumenitsa is much greater: about 450 km, of which only half are on the highway. Allow for at least 6 hours to reach Athens. The capital of Greece is located 11 km south-east of the Port.

Anek, Superfast, Minoan are just some of the shipping companies that connect, almost daily, the ports of Patras and Igoumenitsa with Ancona, Bari, Brindisi, Ravenna, Trieste and Venice. It goes from about 8, 9 hours of crossing from Brindisi, to almost 24 hours from Venice.
