Generally, in the city you move only on foot to reach the main points of interest. With taxis and public transport, however, you can reach the suburbs, more distant from the center.
GETTING AROUND TARGU MURES BY TAXI
Taxis are quite cheap, with rates that stand around 2 LEI for each kilometer. At night, additional costs may apply, but not particularly excessive.
Always choose official taxis, with signs, license and taximeter well highlighted.
Taxi drivers speak English in a way that is not particularly fluent, but understandable. As always, we invite you to check the rate in advance.

BUS
Public transport is managed by the local company TRANSPORT LOCAL SA Tg-Mureş. In the city there are active 30 bus lines with which to move to Targu Mures, and in the suburbs.
Traveling by bus is quite convenient, and above all, incredibly cheap.
Schedules and frequencies, vary according to the line. Generally, buses are running every day, from 05:00 to 22:00 around. The frequency of the races, on weekdays, is around 30′, to reach over 60′ over the weekend.
TICKETS
Getting around Targu Mures by public transport is, as mentioned, really cheap.
Just think that the Daily Pass not nominal costs just 4LEI, about 1.00€ per person. With this ticket you will have unlimited access on the city’s public transport, throughout the day.
Alternatively, at the cost of 2LEI, you can buy a single ticket, valid for a trip.
There are also fortnightly and monthly subscriptions, valid for one or more lines.
Daily Pass e subscriptions they can be purchased exclusively at the authorized kiosks in the city. In the center, on weekdays, you will find the store in Piata Trandafirilor, in front of the Tarom Agency.
The single-ride ticket, on the other hand, can be purchased directly on board the vehicle.
