Lyon Airport

Lyon Airport is an important commercial airport located near the small town of Satolas-et-Bonce, in the Rhône department.

It was named after the great French aviator and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a native of Lyon.

Modern and efficient, the airport is one of the busiest in all of France. It also has a modern train station, designed by Santiago Calatrava, from which high-speed TGV trains depart. Thanks to the modernization works, the new Terminal 1B was recently inaugurated, in addition to T1A and T2. Inside, you will find many shops, shopping areas, bars and restaurants.

RHONEXPRESS

The convenient tram service allows you to reach the center of Lyon in about half an hour. The station can be reached after a 5-minute walk from outside the T2 airport terminal, following the appropriate directions.

Rhonexpress is active every day, including Sundays and holidays, from 04:25 in the morning until midnight. A one-way ticket costs €15.20 for adults aged 26 and over; €10.00, children aged 12 to 25. Round trip, on the other hand, costs €26.70 for over 26s, and €19.00 for children aged 12 to 25. Free for children under the age of 12.

LYON AIRPORT – FRANCE CONNECTIONS

TRAIN

Just 5 minutes walking distance from the airport terminals, is the Gare TGV Lyon Saint Exupery train station from which high-speed and medium/long-haul trains depart for over 20 French destinations.

Every day, including Sundays and holidays, over 10 high-speed connections (TGV) are guaranteed, from 6.20 am to 10 pm approximately, to/from Paris, Gare de Lyon. The trip takes less than 2 hours. By booking in advance it is quite easy to find advantageous fares starting from only €28.00, for non-changeable tickets.

There is an extraordinary alternative, especially if you don’t find an advantageous price. Every day, from Gare de Lyon Saint Exupery, there are also 5 daily connections with the Disneyland Paris TGV station. The travel time is always under two hours; however, the prices are quite affordable, between €10 and €15!

Other connections are guaranteed with Aix-En-Provence (about 60′), Avignon (about 90′), Marseille (about 80′), Montpellier, via Nimes (about 90′) and others.
