An agglomeration of seven departments that surround Paris. A splendid region that, despite the influences of the nearby capital, still manages to preserve its peculiarities, and sometimes a typically provincial aspect.
This is the case, above all, of the four departments most external to the Ville Lumiére.
But it is precisely in this region that there are some truly unique jewels: the marvelous Gothic basilica of Saint Denis; the Castle Park of Sceaux, really suggestive; the marvelous and renowned Palace of Versailles.
The Ile De France also contains wonderful parks and large and picturesque landscapes. The same ones who, many impressionists, wanted to portray in their paintings.
