Sitges boasts an excellent gastronomic tradition and during a holiday in the Catalan city you cannot miss a visit to its traditional markets.
The Plaça de Catalunya market (only on Saturdays) and the Municipal Market are the reference point for the purchase of gastronomic products. They are quite central and easily accessible by public transport.
However, the offer of markets of Sitges is not limited only to products intended for the table.
Those wishing to purchase, or admire, paintings and works of art, can make a trip to Carrer d’en Bosc 2, at the Mercat Vell.

The Saturday market is probably the best place to buy excellent quality products. As the name suggests, it takes place exclusively on Saturdays, from 07:00 to 14:00 in Plaça de Catalunya.
You can mainly buy fruit, vegetables, top quality olive oil, cured meats from the garrotxa, and much more.
Officially opened in 1986, the Mercat Municipal is a traditional multi-level covered market in the heart of Sitges, in Avinguda d’Artur Carbonell 27.
It is located a short distance from the train station, perfectly reachable on foot and by bus.
The Mercat Municipal has 32 food stands on the first floor, 10 commercial premises in the gallery, a supermarket (Mercadona) in the basement and even a Gastronomic Hall for training. Inside there is also a parking lot (rather expensive).
Good variety and quality of the products offered, with quite expensive prices.
The Municipal Market is open all year round, from Monday to Saturday, from 08:30 to 14:00. On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday also open in the afternoon, from 17:30 to 20:30.
