A visit to Seville can not ignore the wonderful Alcázar, a splendid Royal Palace, and one of the best examples of Mudejar architecture.
Alcazar Seville is a place that represents the testimony of the many, and different cultures, that have left their mark on the city. And so, to the influences of a typically Islamic style, successive modifications were added in the Gothic style. All this without affecting the beauty and the suggestive charm of the place.
The complex is really beautiful, inserted by UNESCO, in the 1987, in the heritage of humanity.
Among the sections not to be missed, the Patio de las Doncellas, whose name recalls an ancient legend according to which the Muslims of al-Andalus claimed from the Spanish Christian kingdoms, as tribute, 100 virgins every year.
This place, director Ridley Scott has shot some scenes from the movie “The Crusades”.
It’s still, La Casa de Contratación e Los Baños de Doña María de Padilla, the Puerta del Leon, the Dormitory.
Walking through the garden of the Seville Alcázar, you will travel in time. It will seem to live in another era; it is one of the oldest royal palaces in the world, still used today by the King.

HOW TO GET
Alcazar Seville is conveniently located, easily accessible by public transport. With the metro, Line L1, and the T1 Tram, get off at the Puerta de Jerez stop. Alcazar in Seville is located right in front of the station.
Alternatively, you can use one of the many buses that stop right nearby.
The area, rather central, is full of bars, restaurants and fast food. Right here, you will find the Hard Rock Café Sevilla.
OPENING HOURS ALCAZAR SEVILLE
The Alcázar is open every day from Monday to Sunday, at the following times:
- From October to March: from 09.30 to 17.00.
- From April to September: from 09.30 to 19.00.
- Closed on 1st and 6th January, Good Friday and 25th December.
TICKETS
The full price entrance ticket costs €13.50 per person. There is a reduced rate (€6) for those aged 65 and over, and for students aged 14 to 30 who can show a valid certificate.
The ticket also includes access to the Bellver Museum, Antiquarivm, Museo de Cerámica de Triana, and Museo de San Jorge.
To visit also the Cuarto Real Alto (the upper part of the Palacio del Rey Don Pedro), you need to purchase the special ticket at the cost of 19€ per person which also includes the entrance to the Alcazar.
FREE entry for all, Mondays at 4 and 4.30 pm (October to March) and 6 pm to 6.30 pm (April to September). To take advantage of free admission, you must still book your ticket on the official website.
Children under the age of 13 always enter FREE, accompanied by a paying adult. However, it is necessary to book the ticket for minors on the official website.
