With a really small and circumscribed center, there is no difficulty in getting around Acireale on foot.
Considering the size, the car is a fairly useless solution. Better to leave it on the blue stripes, just before reaching the center.

Public transport is managed by Azienda Siciliana Trasporti (AST) which operates within the municipality.
Due to the anything but high standards, getting around Acireale by bus can be quite disheartening.
Just 4 lines and sometimes exhausting waiting times, with frequencies that average around 60′.
There is also no shortage of sudden suppressions in the service!
With the line 2 it is possible to reach the Acireale railway station from the center and from Piazza Duomo.
Several suburban lines instead connect the city with the restrictive areas including the splendid Taormina.
Tickets can be purchased directly on board the vehicle. The cost is €1.20 and allows you to move within 90′ of validation.
Except for certain periods (Carnival, weekends, high summer season), you won’t have much difficulty parking your car on the blue lines.
The cost is €0.60 for each hour of parking. Payment can be made via the appropriate parking meters and via smartphone with EASYPARK, DropTicket, myCicero, Sunhill, Neospark.
Also pay attention to the ZTL, all perfectly indicated by appropriate signs.
