Fifth largest city in the country, Poznan is a little gem waiting to be discovered.
A city full of charm and history: it is no coincidence that it was the first capital of Poland.
Piazza Vecchia and Stare Miasto, the historic center, are the ideal starting point to discover this charming town. The monuments and the splendid colored buildings that form the background of the Town Hall, from which, every day, at 12:00 sharp, the mechanism will start a strange fight between goats!
Ostrów Tumski is the spectacular islet from which the Cathedral stands: truly splendid.
History, culture and an incredible liveliness, day and night, are the fundamental ingredients that conquer visitors. Here, we meet for a drink, or to taste local products.
To relax, we meet on the banks of the Warta River, often a meeting place for young people and students.
And if you want to get away a couple of kilometers from the center, at Lake Malta you will find activities for every taste and genre. Even for the little ones, with the inevitable zoo and the train pulled by an authentic ‘900 locomotive that shuttles around here.

HOW TO GET TO POZNAN
The plane remains, without a doubt, the quickest way to get to the Polish city. From Poland, Germany and neighboring countries, train and bus are excellent alternatives to the plane, sometimes cheaper.
AIRPLANE
The international airport is located just 7 kilometers from the city center. For a single weekend, or to cover long distances, this is the best way to get to Poznan. The airport offers daily connections to numerous European destinations.
TRAIN
Poznań-Główny is the main station serving the city, a crucial hub for rail connections with Germany and Poland.
The station offers numerous connections, fast or not, with numerous destinations. It is located not far from the center, from which it is well connected with the public transport service. From here, in fact, 10 tram lines and 5 buses pass
With the EUROCITY trains (EC) in about three hours you can arrive from Berlin or Warsaw, also passing through Frankfurt, with prices that are around 20 €. The train. With the EURONIGHT trains, however, you leave from Paris to reach Moscow, passing through Berlin, Frankfurt, Brest, Warsaw and Poznan itself.
With the IC (Intercity) trains, during the day, you can reach the city from the main Polish destinations.
CAR
From East to West, the Polish city is well connected with Poland and the rest of Europe by an efficient motorway network. Berlin is just under a 3-hour drive via Frankfurt. The route runs almost entirely on the motorway section.
From Prague, in the southwest, it takes just over 430 kilometers to get to your destination. Further south, Vienna, whose total distance is about 7 hours by car.
If you are on holiday in the capital, however, you will need to take into account at least 3 hours by car, via the E30.
