GETTING AROUND NORWAY

Trains and roads are rather slow. These are the main reasons why, many people decide to move to the country by air.
Furthermore, the plane is not only the fastest way to connect cities, but sometimes, by booking in advance, it can also be the cheapest.
The various opportunities include the Norway Explore ticket, available on wideroe.no. This is a special ticket that allows you to fly unlimited for as many as 2 weeks. Different versions are available in 3, depending on the area. The version for flying throughout Norway costs 4680NOK (slightly less than 500€). Discounted rate of 25% for boys.

The train is advisable for travel to/from Oslo. The connections are quite frequent and the trains are quite modern. The service is managed by the Norwegian NSB, Norwegian State Railways. For those traveling on a frequent basis, the Inter Rail fare could be quite advantageous.
Several transport companies, on the other hand, deal with road connections. Of these, Nettbus is, without a doubt, safe and reliable.

DOCUMENTS AND CUSTOMS

Norway is a member country of the Schengen agreements. There is no obligation to show documents at the border, but you are always required to bring an Identity Card or passport with you. It is recommended, above all, to bring the CI of their minor children, even if you travel by car or train. Consult our special section in this regard.
Dogs and cats enter freely, provided they have a health certificate and a recent certificate from the veterinarian of the ASL of residence, attesting to good health. Dogs must be vaccinated against rabies for at least 30 days.

CURRENCY AND CHANGE

The official currency is the NORWEGIAN KRONE (Norske Krone), referred to as NOK. In circulation find coins from 1, 5, 10 and 20 cents, from 1, 2 and 5 francs and banknotes from 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 NOK. In March 2019, a crown equals around 0.10€; conversely, 1€ is equivalent to slightly less than 10NOK. Now, almost everywhere, you can pay by credit card directly and withdraw cash at ATMs. Keep in mind, however, that in some small towns, and less touristy places, you may find it difficult to make payments by credit card. A cash reserve is always recommended.
Who needs to enter Bank, keep in mind that, generally, it is open from Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 15:00. In the capital, and in the main Norwegian cities, they can be opened up to 18.
Timetables may be subject to change. Almost everywhere, banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, while on Thursdays they close at 17:00.

HOUR

In the country, the hands of the clock are placed one hour ahead, relative to the Greenwich meridian (UTC/GMT + 1). Daylight saving time begins on the last Sunday of March and ends on the last Sunday of October, with the hands forward an additional hour to Greenwich (UTC/GMT + 2). In summer, therefore, the hands are one hour ahead of the meridian.

ELECTRIC CURRENT

Throughout the country, the voltage is 230 volts, with 50Hz frequency. Generally, you will find type C or bipolar sockets and TYPE F sockets. We recommend that you always use a special adapter. We recommend taking a look at this link for the more provident ones.
