Vendicari beaches: Eloro, Marianelli, Calamosche, San Lorenzo

Vendicari Beaches

Along the approximately 7 kilometers of coastline, the Vendicari Reserve offers some of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily.
True corners of paradise with rocky areas interspersed with small stretches of fine sand.

Calamosche is certainly the most famous beach in the Reserve. The other Vendicari beaches include, from north to south, Eloro, Marianelli, Spiaggia della Tonnara and San Lorenzo.

The Vendicari beaches can only be reached on foot, within the Reserve. The routes can be more or less demanding depending on the destination. There are also special itineraries for moving from one beach to another, within the Reserve.

THE BEST VENDICARI BEACHES

ELORO BEACH

Fine sand and crystalline sea of a thousand shades characterize Eloro, the northernmost beach of the Reserve.
A wild and rather quiet beach, one of the least crowded in Vendicari.
Not far from here, you can admire the remains of the ancient Greek city of Eloro which gives the beach its name.
Eloro is also the starting point of one of the 3 Vendicari itineraries.

HOW TO GET THERE: from the provincial road SP19 follow the signs for Eloro. After a stretch on a dirt road, leave the car at the parking lot (cost € 3.50). You will also find a small refreshment point and paid showers (ideal on return).
Not far from the car park you will find the access gate to the Reserve (€ 3.50 for adults and € 7 for families). The beach is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Reserve.

MARIANELLI BEACH

Wild and secluded, Marianelli has always been the most popular beach for naturists, and not only… don’t be fooled by the words “only for nudists” that you will find along the path!
It is located along the north side of the Reserve, between Eloro and Calamosche.
Characterized by a sandy coast, crystal clear water and shallow waters, it rises in a unique and uncontaminated context.

HOW TO GET THERE: from the SP19 turn towards Marianelli and leave the car in the parking lot. Here too you will find one of the 5 access gates (for a fee) of the Reserve. It takes about 10 minutes to arrive at your destination.

CALAMOSCHE BEACH

Calamosche Beach in Sicily

Without a doubt Calamosche is the most famous of the Vendicari beaches. And, for this reason, also the most crowded.
A sort of natural pool that requires a little more effort than the others to be reached.
More info from this link.

VENDICARI BEACH

Also known as Tonnara Beach due to the presence of the ancient industrial site that dominates the coast.
Precisely the presence of the Tonnara makes the context really pleasant and evocative, ideal for taking beautiful photos.
More info from here.

SAN LORENZO

San Lorenzo and best beaches of Vendicari in Sicily

More than a beach, it is a long coastline that alternates beaches and long sandy stretches with small inlets.
It is located south of the Reserve, right on the border of Vendicari.
The seabed is mostly sandy, with crystalline turquoise water that slopes gently. It is ideal for children.

HOW TO GET THERE: There are several access points to the various beaches of San Lorenzo. If you want to reach the beach within the Reserve, you will have to go through the access gate and pay the entrance ticket to the Reserve. Alternatively, just beyond the Reserve (to the south) you will find the signs (in Roman numerals) for different roads, each of which gives access to a small beach or cove. At Strada III (where we were) you can get to the beach by leaving the car in the parking lot and accessing it in a few minutes on foot.
