A romantic and at the same time curious home. Suffice it to say that this unique wooden house stands on a rock outcrop, in the middle of a river.
For many it is the suspended house. For others it is simply… Drina House (this is its name), a truly unique… and magical place.
Its construction, which began over 40 years ago, is due to a group of friends who, in an attempt to find a solitary refuge, began to shuttle from the shore to the rock, carrying wooden boards.
From here, the house began to take shape. Since 1968, it has suffered several damages, without ever being destroyed. Remodeled several times, it has always been rebuilt, thanks also to the tenacity and patience of the inhabitants. Today, it is one of the most loved and visited places in the Region. Especially after receiving proper attention from National Geographic (2012).

HOW TO GET TO DRINA HOUSE
The house is located in the middle of the river of the same name, near the town of Bajina Bašta and the Tara National Park, in Serbia.
Characteristic of the house is also the fact that it rises right on the border line between Serbia and Bosnia and Erzogovina.
ARRIVING FROM BELGRADE
Drina House is located about 180 kilometers from the capital.
You can rent a car directly at the airport. The journey takes about two and a half hours.
ARRIVING FROM SARAJEVO
From Bosnia Herzegovina, it takes more than three hours to reach your destination, although the journey is slightly shorter. (About 160 kilometers).
OBSERVATION POINTS
In Milenka Topalovića an excellent observation point and an ideal place to take pictures. In Studenac you can stop for lunch or dinner, and take the opportunity to enjoy an incomparable view of the Drina and the house.
