For many, Lloret de Mar is synonymous with beaches, nightlife and fun.
How to blame him.
It is above all the young people, from Catalonia and from all over Europe, who take the city by storm in the summer. Ready to relax during the day, along its beautiful and crowded beaches. And ready to go to clubs, all night, with the center that turns into a huge meeting place.
But it is far from the crush and the summer chaos that the Spanish city offers the best of itself. Between castles, ancient cemeteries and parks, sometimes extravagant museums, it is difficult to get bored. There are also, in addition, events of attraction for fans; above all, the Birrasana, in the spring.
Hikers, on the other hand, will surely love going into the wonderful trails of the Grande Rondonnée.
HOW TO GET
Coming from medium / long-haul destinations, aircraft resolution is preferable. From Spain, instead, train, bus and car are the best options.
BY PLANE
Barcelona-El Prat and Girona-Costa Brava are the two international airports of reference for those wishing to reach Lloret de Mar.
In our opinion, due to its proximity and connections, Girona airport is the preferable solution, located only 30 km from the city.
The airport is well connected, with direct flights, to the main European destinations.
In front of the airport terminal exit you will find the bus station. The Spanish Sagalés connects the airport with Barcelona, Girona and the Costa Brava. Buses, quite modern, have all the comforts and wifi line. Furthermore, they can be used by people with reduced mobility.
For Lloret de Mar, the journey time is 35 minutes with the 605 bus. The one-way ticket costs €10.00. On the official website, you can buy the ticket online. Alternatively, you can buy it at the airport.
Schedules and frequencies vary according to the season.
CAR
From Barcelona, in the south, you have to travel a distance of about 80 kilometers to reach your destination, crossing the C32. It generally takes about an hour along this Autopista de Pau Casals.
Much greater, however, is the distance from the capital, which reaches nearly 700 kilometers. The journey is not particularly demanding, passing through the splendid Zaragoza.
Beyond the border, a trip by car can be easily tackled from the south of France. Montpellier and Toulouse are 280 and 330 kilometers away respectively from the Spanish city. Marseille, 450 km, and Nice, around 600.
TRAIN
There is no train station in Lloret. The nearest, is in Blanes, about 8 kilometers away. The station is not particularly busy, and connections are limited to regional trains only. Travel times, and frequencies, are quite high.
The station, rather far from the center, is connected exclusively with a long-distance line.
Therefore, the train is not the ideal solution to reach Lloret de Mar. Better to opt for alternative solutions, such as cars or buses.
