ESTA is an acronym that stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization. As can be seen from the name, this is an authorization aimed at those who intend to travel in the United States.
ESTA is one of the mandatory requirements of the US government, to join the Travel program without a visa.
Without this authorization, you will not be able to obtain the Visa Wave Program.
HOW TO REQUEST
Those arriving by air, or by sea, can request their ESTA directly online, through the official website.
It is necessary to fill in a specific application, supplying all the required data, and answering the various questions, such as, for example, any previous criminal charges.
It is preferable to request at least 72 hours before embarking on the journey. However, this does not mean that you can do it even at the last second.
Generally, if you rely on a travel agency, it will take care of the latter to complete all the tasks, including the compilation of the ESTA.
REQUIREMENTS ESTA
To obtain the authorization, you must have the following requirements:
- You intend to travel for tourism, or for business, for a period not exceeding 90 days.
- Being a citizen of one of the following countries: Andorra. Australia. Austria. Belgium. Brunei. Chile. Czech Republic. Denmark. Estonia. Finland. France. Germany. Greece. Hungary. Iceland. Ireland. Italy. Japan. Latvia. Liechtenstein. Lithuania. Luxembourg. Monaco (Principality). New Zealand. Netherlands. Norway. Portugal. Republic of Malta. San Marino. Singapore. Slovakia. South Korea. Slovenia. Spain. Sweden. Switzerland. Taiwan. United Kingdom.
- Being in possession of a valid passport, equipped with an electronic chip, also e-passport. The document, bearing the appropriate symbol on the cover, contains biometric information of the owner, to authenticate the identity.
* You use an airline, or cruise, known by the United States government. In this case, you must have a return ticket indicating the final destination and the country of transit.
HOW MUCH
When requesting authorization, you must pay an amount equal to 14$, for each person who requests it.
Payment is made by credit card.
