Welcome to the city of Carnival.
Of the splendid Tuscany, Viareggio represents one of the world reference points, thanks to the Carnival. All over the world, its celebrations, the majestic floats and the art of papier-mâché are a real point of reference. Not only during the event itself.
A real citadel with an adjoining museum, it is in operation all year round, to showcase this historic tradition.
But, beyond the Carnival, there is much more.
Viareggio, in fact, is the pearl of Versilia with a wonderful, and very long, walkway to the sea and its particularly lively dock; both day and night. Interesting buildings such as Villa Puccini and the Civic Museums of Villa Paolina.
Elegant and refined town, it is also the starting point for nearby Lucca and the renowned Pisa. A place that is worth discovering throughout the year.
